Athena is a dancer struggling to make it in LA. She has small dancing roles but starring parts elude her. Her daily life consists of dancing, smoking and occasional encounters. Her dream is to go on tour in the company of big names/stars. Athena’s father Jack (Ray Liotta) interrupts her existence when he asks her to move home to Florida to care for him: he has cancer. Though our heroine has no warm feelings for her father – in the past he never showed much interest in her life – she is compelled to return to her native town to face up to her past life, to come to terms with certain difficult childhood memories and to reassess her plans for the future.
